Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mac Cleaner Pro ("the Software"), the desktop application for macOS, and the website at maccleanerpro.com (together, the "Service"), operated by an independent developer based in India ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software you agree to these Terms.
1. Licensing
The Software is free and open source, distributed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute it under the terms of that license, and read or audit every line of source on GitHub. There is no license key, no trial period, and no feature gate — every feature is unlocked from first launch.
If you purchased a license key before the Software went free and open source, it continues to work and is recognized offline; it unlocks a "Supporter" badge in Settings but nothing is gated behind it anymore.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Software to violate any law or to damage another person's data or system.
- Misrepresent modified or redistributed copies as the official release, per the MIT License's attribution requirement.
3. Data & privacy
The Software runs entirely on your Mac. We do not collect personal data, file contents, paths, or scan results. Optional anonymous usage metrics and crash reports are off by default and can be toggled in Settings → Privacy. See our Privacy Notice for full details.
4. Legacy purchases & refunds
The Software is no longer sold, so there is nothing new to refund. If you purchased a license before the switch to free and open source, a 30-day refund window from your original purchase date still applies — see our Refund Policy.
5. Updates & changes
We may release software updates that add, modify, or remove features at any time. Because the Software is free, there is no separate purchase required for future v1.x updates.
6. Disclaimers
The Software is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While the Software uses Trash-first deletion with 30-day undo, you remain responsible for your own backups. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Software, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (the website and any backend endpoints it uses) if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Software at any time by deleting it — nothing further is owed on either side.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be resolved in the courts having jurisdiction in Tamil Nadu, India, unless required otherwise by applicable consumer law in your country of residence.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
