Mac Cleaner Pro is built privacy-first. The desktop app runs entirely on your Mac. We do not see your files, your scan results, or how you use individual features. This page describes the very small amount of data we do touch.

The app and the website are separate

Two different things, with two different answers, so it is worth stating plainly: the app collects nothing and makes no network calls. The website is plain static hosting, and today runs no analytics of any kind. If privacy- preserving, cookieless website analytics are ever added, they will be named here — and they would still tell us nothing about what anyone scans or deletes, because the app never sends that anywhere.

What we receive when you visit the website

The website at maccleanerpro.com is statically hosted. Standard HTTP request logs (IP address, user-agent, requested path, referrer, timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention, typically for 30–90 days. We do not run third-party tracking scripts, set marketing cookies, or use ad networks.

Legacy purchases (before the app went free)

Mac Cleaner Pro is free and open source. There is no checkout on this site and nothing to buy, so no new payment or customer data is collected. This section is retained only for people who bought a licence before the project switched to free and open source.

Those payments were processed by Razorpay. They collected the payer’s name, email, billing address, payment method details and tax-relevant information, and passed us only what was needed to deliver the licence — name, email, country and order ID. Full payment details never touched our systems.

Those email addresses were used solely to deliver a licence key, send a one-time receipt, and answer support requests. We still use them to honour legacy refund and key-recovery requests. Nobody was, or will be, added to a mailing list without explicit opt-in.

In-app telemetry: none

The desktop app has no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no usage tracking. There is no toggle to turn any of it off, because there is nothing to turn off — Settings → Privacy states the same guarantee and offers no controls. A fresh install makes no network calls at all.

The one exception is a legacy licence key: if you hold one from before the app went free, the app revalidates it with our server periodically and works offline for up to seven days between checks. Without such a key, nothing is ever sent.

None of this has to be taken on trust — the app is MIT licensed and the source is public on GitHub.

Update checks: none

The app does not ship an auto-updater and does not poll an update server. New versions are downloaded manually from this site or from GitHub Releases. If that changes, this notice will be updated before the feature ships, not after.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold about you (typically: a legacy purchase record, if you bought before the switch) by emailing hello@maccleanerpro.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU/UK, this notice also serves as our GDPR/UK GDPR disclosure: the legal basis for processing legacy purchase data is contract performance; for security logs, legitimate interest.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We will post material changes to this notice on this page with an updated effective date. If the change affects how we use data we already hold, we will notify legacy licence holders by email.
